GREY'S FIRST GREAT ADVENTURE

This is a story book that was over 2 years in the making. The idea began when my wife was pregnant with our son, Grey. While we were on our adventure to meet him I began to imagine his adventure to meet us. From that simple idea this book was born.

"PROJECT SPIDER" VIDEO GAME

I have always loved video games. I was raised in the NES days which had a big impact on me. I never lost the passion for what I consider the truest form of interactive art. Recently I have found that the industry has become a little stale. With so much power and flexibility within the gaming paintbrush I wondered why everything was looking the same. This is the project I'm working on to prove that gaming should be much more than man and gun.

"THE LAND OF UH-OH"

Writing and illustrating "Grey's First Great Adventure" was one of the most amazing and challenging projects of my life. So when another story book adventure came to me I got to work on it right away. This is still very much a work in progress,

CHAIR DESIGN

The concept of this chair was to examine the relationship between the symmetrical human form and how it impacts design. With that theme in mind the chair was designed with two important notions. Internal and external desires.

The internal desire focuses on formal and casual positioning. Each half of the chair accommodates two sitting positions based on body orientation. Facing outward is the formal upright position. Rotating 90 degrees changes the dynamic to the casual and "lounge" position.

The external desire focuses on relationships with others. The chair is mirrored at it's centered axis to accommodate two sitters. And to reflect the symmetry found in the inspiration of this piece, the Human body.  This also allows two different levels of interactions between the two people. The formal position is less engaging while the casual lends itself to be more interactive.

The chair also only has 2 "legs" meaning it needed to be counterweighted perfectly so that it wouldn't tip over even if only one person was seated. That is why the back part of each lounge bumps up in thickness.

The chair is made up of 120 laminated slices of wood.
